Run The Jewels Cut It Up Live In Killer Mike's Barber Shop

Anyone who has had the good fortune of catching Run the Jewels live in concert knows full well just how fearsome the duo gets. And anyone who hasn't caught them can still most likely imagine it. Today, however, there's no reason for make-believe thanks to a brand new video of El-P and Killer Mike performing in what, we've been told, is Killer Mike's Atlanta barber shop Graffitis SWAG (SWAG= Shave, Wash And Groom). Filmed through a pinhole frame and backed by their regular deck-master DJ Trackstar, Mike and El performed "Pew Pew Pew," a bonus track off of their bone-crushingly strong debut record RTJ. Rolling Stone premiered the clip early Tuesday morning.

Ruminating in the Run the Jewels live show, El-P rightly noted that "It's the closet thing I've seen to a punk aesthetic in hip-hop, in my years of being a rapper." Mike echoed those sentiments: "When we were kids, punk and rap had to play the same clubs, they had to play the same venues because both of them were social outcasts. We want be in your face, we want to be wildin', the crowd screaming and yelling and wildin', and then everyone gets out safe and takes care of each other." You can watch their sizzling performance of "Pew Pew Pew" below, and catch a bonus behind-the-scenes clip after the jump.
