The Stars Came Out At Night For Roots Jam 2015: Full Video Recap From OKP TV!

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

The stars of music came out in force to rock with The Roots at Roots Jam 2015, the Legendary's annual open-door Jam Session for friends and special guests that took place in the run-up to the 2015 Grammys. We've shared with you some of Mel D. Cole's amazing photos of the proceedings as well as a few of our favorite break out performances ("Adorn"; "Joints & Jam"; "No Flex Zone"; "Superstition/Take It Back.") but here we have the full video recap of everything at once. Just a running your eyes down the epic roll call of personnel that touched the stage gives you some idea of the scope of what went down of those few fateful nights in L.A. This thing reads like the best music festival in the history of the world, don't believe me just read these names out loud (but take a deep breath first): Miguel, Ed Sheeran, will.I.am, CeeLo Green, Queen Latifah, YG & Ty Dolla $ign, Kool & The Gang (with Kandace Spring!), Rae Sremmurd, Jeremy Ellis, K. MichelleNico & Vinz, Bilal, Adrian Younge, Mayer Hawthorne, (exhale, re-up, we're not there yet!) T.I., Latitia Saedier (of Stereolab), Marsha Ambrosius, Meek Mill, Nick Jonas, Zoe Kravitz & Lolawolf, LeCrae, Liv Warfield and Jamie Foxx (on beatbox!) In other words, Roots Picnic headliners for about the next 20 summers or so, but all getting down spontaneously in a venue where there as many stars in the audience as on stage and the fans lucky enough to slide in are made to feel like family. I think I exceeded my word count just ticking off those names but every video frame with audio is worth at least a few thousand more, so open the Book of Jam below via the talented and unstoppable OKP TV team. Stay tuned for a few more select breakouts (Questlove rapping, anybody?) and we'll see you next year!
