If you took our advice and headed over to the Rock The Bells Launch Party last night, this would be old news for you by now. For the rest of us, here’s the official lineup for the RTB 2011 (presented by Guerilla Union & Boost Mobile, hosted by The RZA, MURS 3:16 & Supernatural). The 8th annual festival will be headlined by Ms. Lauryn Hill (The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill), Nas (Illmatic w/ special guests AZ, Pete Rock & DJ Premier), Cypress Hill (Black Sunday), Mos Def & Talib Kweli are Black Star (Black Star), Raekwon & Ghostface (Only Built 4 Cuban Linx), Erykah Badu, and more, all performing full album sets. Others slated to perform full album sets include Mobb Deep (The Infamous), Genius/GZA (Liquid Swords), Souls of Mischief (’93 Til Infinity), Black Moon (Enta Da Stage), and Masta Killa (No Said Date). This year’s festival will hit four major North American markets, kicking off in Los Angeles (San Manuel Amphitheater) on August 20th, followed by San Francisco (Shoreline Amphitheatre) August 27th, then heading out east for an NY show on September 3rd (Governor’s Island) and closing out in Boston on September 10th. The fun doesn’t stop there, other heads to check for on the bill include Immortal Technique, Slaughterhouse, Mac Miller, Curren$y, Blu + Exile + Fashawn, Random Axe, Evidence, Big K.R.I.T., Freddie Gibbs, Roc Marciano, and more names to be announced. That’s a diesel ass lineup right there, I know I’ll be in attendance. Pre-sale starts June 3rd and general on-sale on June 4th. Head to RTB’s site for more details.
