UPDATE: NYPD Debunks Reports Of Shots Fired At JFK Airport

UPDATE:As of late Sunday night, New York City police have given the all-clear at John F. Kennedy airport after reports of shots fired.

According to CNN, police were told by two people that they thought they heard shots fired. Police went floor-to-floor to clear the airport make sure nothing was found, and surveillance video from inside the terminal didn't show any shooting.

There were no injuries or arrests. Law enforcement officials said that hoax 911 calls or word of mouth may have led to the panic, which had hundreds of passengers leaving their bags and suitcases behind while running out of the airport.

According to CBS New York, there have been reports of shots fired at JFK Airport.

New York Fire Department told CBS2 that there was a call forshots fired at9:38 p.m.The New York Police Department stated that they received calls saying there were shots fired inside the airport at Terminal 8.

CBS reports that "dozens" of people have been leaving the airport in light of the shootings, anda Twitter user at the airport tweeted about the incident as well, as seen below.

There has been no confirmation of an actual shooter, or of any injuries or deaths.
