Live For The Funk, Die For The Funk : Questlove And George Clinton Set To Wax Poetic In Harlem 10/28

A legendary night of funk fandom is set to take place at Harlem's Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture as our very own Questlove and George Clinton are set to explore funk's past, present and future in the New York Public Library's speaker series Between The Lines. The evening will celebrate the release of Clinton's memoir Brothas Be, Yo Like George, Ain't That Funkin' Kinda Hard onYou?, which was discussed briefly a few months back with the captain of the latter-day funkateer army Dam-Funk.

This certainly isn't the first time the two titans have met, having both taken part in Nelson George's proper chronicle of the tradition in Finding The Funk, but it will certainly be the first time a discussion of this sort has taken place. Topics that may be broached include where Starchild stands on "The One" (of James Brown's foundational algorithm) how he and Pedro Bell linked to create some of the most iconic album covers ever and who the new torchbearers of the sound might be. The discussion will begin promptly at 6:30 and is being seated on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to get their nice and early. Head over to NYPL for more info. Check the footage above to stream the event live at 6:30 PM EST, tonight!
