Prince's family has announced an official tribute concert in his honor will take place in the fall. According to the Associated Press the show is expected to happen October 13 at the U.S. Bank Stadium in Prince's hometown of Minneapolis, with performers to be announced in the months to come.

The Purple One's brothers and sisters said in a joint statement that they "have been moved by the tremendous love and support of Prince's friends and fans around the world."

"We are excited for the opportunity to bring everyone together for the official family celebration of Prince's life, music and legacy, and there is no better place to do it than his hometown of Minneapolis," the statement read. "We are honored by the artists who will pay tribute and grateful to those that have worked so hard to make this celebration possible."

It'll be interesting to see who the performers will be for the official tribute concert. With so many artists influenced by Prince Rogers Nelson's music his family surely has a lot to choose from.

The Revolution would obviously be great to see. Founded by Prince in 1979 The Revolution served as his backing band until he disbanded the group in 1986. They're expected to perform two back-to-back shows in Minneapolis on September 2 and 3 at the First Avenue club in Minneapolis, the infamous setting for the concert sequences in the iconic Purple Rain film. Although those are the only tour dates The Revolution has announced, hopefully they'll be one of the groups chosen to participate. After all the band's bassist BrownMark, seemed to imply that their First Avenue concerts were just the start of something else, in a Facebook post.

The family could also get a number of the artists that were a part of BET's Prince tribute this year — maybe Bilal?

Anyways, enough speculating — tickets for the concert will go on sale next month.
