Prince is preparing for an extended takeover of Chicago beginning September 24th. The Purple Yoda (his words, not ours) announced his “Welcome 2 Chicago” residency at the United Center earlier today. The shows will be Prince’s first in the city since 2004′s “Musicology” tour.
“Welcome 2 Chicago” will benefit Rebuild The Dream, a self-described “movement for a sustainable economy, more jobs, accountability for Wall Street, fair share taxes for corporations—and an America that delivers on its promise of opportunity for all” founded by Van Jones, a former advisor to President Obama.
Tickets for the opening September 24th show will go on sale September 6th. More dates are expected to be announced shortly.
