Prince Tops The Charts, Warner Brothers Confirms Tour Dates Are On The Way

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

As far as Prince fandom is concerned, the past few months have been absolute gifts. Two records on top of a litany of teasers and soundbites (not to mention a live-streamed double album release party at the compound) have made for a heavy spectactle of purple prowess and as chart reports finally pour in, we find yet another reason to sing the Kid's praises. Both his solo record Art Official Age and his collaborative 3rdEyeGirl-backed Plectrum Electrum LPs have landed in the top 10 of Billboard's Top 200 chart and sit firmly atop of the Rock and R&B charts respectively.

According to Dr. Funkenberry, on top of some much needed (and earned) commercial success, the Purple Patriarch will soon be announcing tour dates to support the albums. After bringing out Kendrick Lamar at Paisley Park, there's simply no telling what kind of madness might unfurl under those lavender lights. Here's to hoping that K Dot manifests in some shape or form. We'll be sure to have those dates for you as soon as they drop, but until then, put your ears to the new funk from the wizard and cop both Art Official Age and Plectrum Electrum on iTunes today.
