Phony PPL - "I Wish I Was A Chair" (video still)

Phony Ppl are back with an irresistibly smooth new joint. After releasing their Nothing Special EP last summer and following with the spacious orchestrally-driven “Statues” at the top of 2013, Phony Ppl have returned with their latest, the video for “I Wish I was A Chair.”  The band still killing behind co-captain Elbie Three, as he waxes poetic about getting closer to a certain somegirl over a track resurrected from their debut EP Phonyland. Somewhere between rapping and singing, his sincere delivery is endearing and sweet against the bed of soft key chords and guitar licks laid down by the band to massage your weary ears. The video directed by the good people at Sperry offers a cinematic ode to electric relaxation that suggests the track could be a fitting accompaniment to two lovers sharing a smoke and a pancake. It bodes well for what’s to come from the band and anyone stuck inside with their boo on a snow day. Watch below:
