Illadelphians, beatmakers and students of Mixology (not the cocktails, the other kind), turn us up in your headphones for a quick sec: Thursday April 5th (that's the day after tomorrow, y'all) The Music Industry Program at Drexel University will be joining with the Philadelphia chapter of the Recording Academy to bring you something they call Grammy Soundtables, a 'behind the glass' session with chairmen of the boards Justin "Just Blaze" Smith (Jay-Z, Eminem) and Jimmy Douglass (Justin Timberlake, Linkin Park)--two of the most prolific and hit-makingest producers currently laying tracks. The 'intimate conversation' takes place from 6-10pm, followed by a networking reception where you can presumably talk Blaze's ear off about the Rick James flip on "Kingdom Come" or transforming in-studio videos into Star Wars-inspired mini-epics (for instance). Find full details after the jump and RSVP here to attend.
