Phil Beaudreau
Though I had heard the name Phil Beaudreau a few times in the past, I'll admit, it wasn't until I heard his "Anyway" (an amazing song) sampled on Casey Veggies' "Life Changes" that I really got hooked. I was converted into a fan in under a minute and frantically searched the web for everything he had ever made (in true stan fashion). His releases have been sporadic at best since then, but that changed this past weekend with the release of his debut LP, Ether. This isn't the ish that makes your soul burn slow though, Phil and producer Dawaun Parker come through with 13 beautifully crafted new tracks that will give you new hope for this next generation of vocalists (r&b or otherwise).
