Coming to us from Cape Town's full-bloom, forward-minded electronic music scene, Petite Noir has been carefully, diligently, etching out his space in the stars. The "Noirwave" pioneer has a blistering, at times conceptual sound the merges the worlds of Afrobeat, chill-wave and '80s pop, building masterful scores with drum machines, muted guitar struts and murky synthesizers (think Dev Hynes, Morrissey and David Byrne locked in some interstellar studio space. ) Today, we finally have the opportunity to hear his full-length debut La Vie Est Belle / Life Is Beautiful, a necessary and proper follow-up to his The King of Anxiety EP, which is still getting plenty of burn. The 11-track outing is PN's finest, most focused effort yet and it has been put up to stream in its entirety via NPR First Listen ahead of its official September 11th release. Hit the link below to hear Petite Noir's new La Vie Est Belle / Life Is Beautiful and once you've had your fill, preorder the record on iTunes to insure repeated rotations.
