What seems like ages ago, we were made privy to the release of a forthcoming documentary that would chronicle the proliferation of Roland's foundational TR-808 drum machine. Now, 808  is one of the year's most anticipated releases, and what's more, the film just got fit with a firm release date for you devout purveyors of the drum machine funk. The film will land in London on August 8th (or 8/08, duh) with a BFI Southbank premiere the will feature some serious heat from behind the ones and twos from Andrew Weatherall and Andy Lewisa perfect "welcome to the world" from some of the regions best known DJs.

The film will feature testimony from industry legends like Pharrell, Afrika Bambaataaour very own Questlove, as well as Rick Rubin, Phil Collins and Roland founder Ikutaro Kakehashi and is helmed by the co-pilot to the Bam's perfect beat sojourn Arthur BakerNo US or worldwide release has been announced as of yet, so if your devout to drum program, it's time to start looking for plane tickets.
