Coming off the release of his attention grabbing album, You're Invited to the Assassination of Patrick Campbell by Paris Jones, Paris Jonesonce again hooks up with Clement & Co. for some slightly NSFW visuals (few nip slips in there). The latest video has Paris teamed up with NY based emcee Angel Haze with "Okay." Listen to the two emcees trade bars over Paris' production (which samples Active Child's "Hanging On"). The concept for this video is to depict an artist whose work literally takes on a life of its own and to show him make the conscious decision to make himself a reflection of his work. We wanted the images in the video to contrast with the types of things that we normally see in videos, going from straightforward performance to something more abstract and ethereal as the video progressed. The decisions on what to show in the video and how to show them were conscious ones that we wanted to expose to the audience and for them to unpack upon viewing. We hope that people take the time to process everything and see the work as a viable alternative to the images and the concepts that are constantly being recycled and inspires them to create work that doesn't neatly fit the expectations and conventions of the genre.
