Audio: RZA “Whar” feat. Ghostface, Kool G Rap & Tash Mahogany

The soundtrack to the first season of Spike TV's animated show Afro Samurai was hard as hell so nothing less should be expected of the soundtrack to season two, Afro Samurai Resurrection (dope show as well by the way). Once again The RZA is at the helm of production for the score and he brings along expected Wu features like Ghostface, Inspectah Deck, and Killah Priest along with appearances from Kool G Rap, Rah Digga and Sly Stone. The Soundtrack will be out 1/27. Here is the first single off the project "Whar," RZA featuring the originator of that gutter talk, Kool G Rap, Ghostface, and Tash Mahogany.

Video: NYOIL “Father Father (Prod. DJ Green Lantern)”

Much respect to all the responsible fathers out there taking care of their parenting duties. We don't have to wait 'til Fathers day to show love. This song,"Father Father," by NYOIL (Prod. DJ Green Lantern) samples Barack Obama's speech on fatherhood along with Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On."  NYOIL states: "This video was produced by NYOIL (the artist) with the help of supporters from all over the world that sent PICTURES of themselves with their children or pictures of them and their fathers to help create this heartfelt tribute to Fatherhood and its TRUE importance as a binding element in the fabric of our lives."

Audio: Saigon “Trans-Atlantic Slave Deal”

Saigon is a rapper who would fall on my short-list of promising emcees who's debut album I'm actually still anticipating. His many outside the booth issues have been well documented, but when he tries to educate the people is when I feel he's at his best. On this track, "Trans-Atlantic Slave Deal," he does just that in speaking about his falling out with Atlantic Records. The Greatest Story Never Told coming….yeah I got no clue on that one.

Video: The Foreign Exchange Interview with GakCity

When cruising through many of the top album lists of '08 (the good ones at least) you'll notice that The Foreign Exchange's Leave It All Behind appears on many of them (as it should). Gak City caught up with the duo (Phonte and Nicolay) before their show at the Highline Ballroom in NYC to discuss the album, how they met (the boards), and more. Watch the video and see some footage from the show and find out when Nic and Tay plan to drop their next collaboration. In other FE news as of today the limited edition double vinyl (only 1000 pressed) copy of Leave It All Behind is available. About 80 copies will be signed by Phonte and Nicolay and are only available here.

Audio: Rhymefest “Coolness”

You know this twitter phenomenon has reached a whole new level when that's where I gotta start going to find exclusives. Rhymefest let the people know about this new joint "Coolness" via twit last night. Fest gets his '88 on and goes in over MC Lyte's "Paper Thin" beat. Fest hit us with a few joints off the project to test out last month, and trust their is some ish on their you're going to want to hear. El Che: The Manual mixtape is coming soon.
