Okayplayer's Own Frank Longo Presents The Official Pass The Popcorn Picks For The Oscars 2016.

With just only five days to go until Oscar night — we here at Okayplayer have decided to join in the whole predictions game to call out the winners for how things are going to go when the show airs on Feb. 26. As most of the ballots have been cast, the campaigning has come to an end, we wonder out loud if Moonlight or La La Land will take home more awards. Will Denzel Washington earn that coveted “Best Actor” Oscar? Who will win out of the extremely talented and worthy “Best Documentary” category?

We have a pretty good idea about who will win, taking into account the Golden Globes, the WGA and NAACP Image Awards — but who really knows until that envelope is open and the winner is announced?! It does feel like a bit of change is in the air, but we’ll have to wait and see when the 89th annual Academy Awards airs on ABC at 8:30 p.m. EST. Our own Kevito Clark, your friendly, neighborhood managing editor, offered up his choice picks + thoughts in the pages below. So, without further ado, here are his predictions for winners of the Oscars 2017 season.

After last years out cry because of the lack of black winners, several Oscars will be “gifted” to them. While many Blacks are thrilled by the freebies, many are upset due to the fact that everyone will look at them as token winners and not real talent.

Nah man.. Kubo ain’t going to win visual effects, Jungle Book is likely going to take that. And Zootopia is clearly the front runner for Best Animated Feature and it rightfully deserves it.

Would love to see Denzel with Oscar
