This coming Monday evening, Brother ?uestlove will announce the winners of our Okayplayer x Artists Wanted "Art Takes Times Square" contest in Times Square (watch the video above for a ?uick refresher) and display the winning art submission on the area's iconic electronic billboards. Besides your art (prospective, being featured on a giant video screen right in the center of the known universe (AKA Times Square) the winner of the exclusive OKP prize will get a $500.00 shopping spree in our Okaystore. The spectacle and announcement of the inners will be accompanied by a reception right there in the heart of the city, open to all comers (and giving new meaning to the phrase "streets is watching")
Tens of thousands of artists have participated in Art Takes Times Square and the winning visual to be displayed on the glittering screens of Times Square, will have a potential audience of over 200,000 people. Over a million viewers from around the world voted on their favorites, with one Grand Prize Award winner receiving a $10,000 grant (and the show of a lifetime). Chashama and Artists Wanted will present the work of thousands of other participating artists on two mobile screens within a celebration featuring brass bands, performers and, of course, hosted by ?uestlove of The Roots.
