I don’t care if it was unedited, her nor her sister should have gotten buck ass naked for a video. As many videos that get leaked these days, she should know better. It’s not like she’s young and naive. She really changed my opinion of her. I’m quite disappointed.

WORD!!!!! i effin LOVVVVE Badu, but was pretty disturbed/disgusted with it AND I AM NOT THAT CONSERVATIVE AT ALL! i was trying to interpret it; such as 1st verse –> reference to sun in eyes –> glitter. Okay.
2nd verse —> reference to heartbeat —> blood. Nasty, but okay.
3rd verse —-> reference to making love/laying —> o_O WTF?! *vomits*

So i’m actually glad to hear that it was unedited and NOT with Erykah’s approval. The only thing that gets me is how her sister was a little TOO into it, especially the last scene. Nonetheless, f*ck that pompous ass Wayne muhfukka for playing her. And before some idiot says “she played herself” sometimes you feel you have artistic trust with people so you don’t ALWAYS see mofos backstabbing you. i think it’s a lesson learned for Badu tho.

I don’t have any dog in this fight, the video and song seemed horrible to me. I liked a couple of songs off of one album by the Flaming Lips, but overall have not really ever gotten it. On the other hand, I love the whole “Badu needs to have a message, from the earth” bullshit. Badu’s rant was total crap and she reminds me of the same woman that some of my boys who grew up in Dallas would tell me about her, may have a head wrap, but still a diva of the highest.

Thank you for your comment! I totally agree with you. I was disturbed and appalled. I saw so many people post this on FB saying that they loved it! But when I searched for more Flaming Lips videos I noticed a trend. All of the women, of color, were naked. It was exploitation. What’s interesting to me is that she initially didn’t say anything about this video. All she said was that the naked images were those of her sister. She didn’t seem to disrespected by it until later. What’s up with that?

I propose to those loyal Badu fans to “boycott” the video. Don’t watch it, don’t tweet it, don’t “like it” until the video has been revised to the artist’s satisfaction.
Ms. Badu I’m sure, as an artist, always have her fans in mind when creating whether it be a song, a video, and even though this was somebod else’s vision they knew the value she would bring yet they shortchanged themselves. We as fans have some kind of say here as well besides commenting. Boycott!!

I’m not gonna lie, I think Wayne is a genius. I’m not surprised he is hard to work with, but if you trust a deranged (but brilliant) artist like Wayne to work with you then you’ve gotta be open to different results.
