Our dude Zakee was going so hard on the tropical/afrodance thing a few years ago that he was actually known as Zakee Kuduro for a minute (see subway tag in the photo after the jump). But when we heard tracks recently from his forthcoming LP project on Green Owl we realized he was plumbing his untapped rock-star depths. Watch this live performance of “Spotlight” at Brooklyn’s Public Assembly and you will hear what we heard (get the full story at OKA).

I was about to say what a great drummer.. NOT … human drummer kicks at 3:19 yeah i know i am hating, but perhaps I am sick and tired of hearing these new bands hidden behind their safety net in the name of cool. Fuck that i want to see you sweat and fuck up once in a while.. part of the show if you ask. After all I am paying my cash to see you work no?

This sounds great to me…The drummer is okay but not great. Just a little tweaking with his drummer and Zakee will be fine. Dont be such a hater @Daniel let the man live and make music.
