Okayafrica Video: Zakee “Glory”

OK, this is not really that Africa-related but we might have to start OkayBrazil (Playa de OK?) just for this one video. We were checking for Zakee something close anyway but then dude went and shot his next video in Rocinha–the biggest of Rio De Janeiro’s infamous favelas, and the inspiration for some characters and events in the film (best movie ever?) City of God. The combination of the dramatic Rio backrop, the ominous synths and the freaky Kraftwerkish masks that crop up toward the end all combine to make “Glory” (coppable now in mp3 form) a particularly apocalyptic teaser for Z’s new Assimilations LP (which drops on Green Owl September 13th).
