Okayafrica Video: Fela Kuti's "Zombie" Meets Flex Dance In Hot Clip From OKA x NOWNESS

The Irresistible Movements Rhythms Of Fela Kuti's "Zombie" Meet The Sharp Movements Of Flex Dance In The 'Fela Flex' Video From Okayafrica & NOWNESS Directed By Domenick Sheldon.

The irresistible afrobeat rhythms of Fela Kuti's "Zombie" meet the sharp movements of flex dance in the Fela Flex video from Okayafrica and co-publisher NOWNESS. The hot clip, which "sheds a modern light on the vintage sounds of afrobeat", was shot at NYC's ROOT Studios by award-winning director Dominick Sheldon. The production pairs a Fela classic with the killer moves of Brooklyn-based dancers from the 2013 documentary Flex is Kings; the film examines the street dancing style known as "flex", which originated in East New York. Check the footage below to watch the Fela Flex video. Scroll down to see the names of the dancers in this clip. Get more on Fela Kuti and flex dance via Okayafrica.
