Watch Nile Rodgers & Chic Throw A Funk Party On Jimmy Kimmel Live

2015 has been kind to funkateers far and wide. And perhaps the single greatest testament to that, above all, would be the resurgence of Nile Rodgers and his OG crew Chic. Last night Rodgers and the gang strutted supremely on the Jimmy Kimmel Live stage, gifting the world with a performance that brought the funk, new and old, live and direct to your living room floor. First up, Nile and the ensemble blazed through their latest dance floor freaker "I'll Be There," granting us our first live taste of a tributary cut that honors Rodgers' late great writing partner and collaborator Bernard Edwards.

Then came a taste of good ole vintage Chic, busting out an all-the-way proper performance of the perennial hit-maker's '79 classic "Good Times" (even jumping into a little "Rapper's Delight" in homage to Sugar Hill Gang's legendary repurposing) with some helping hands and feet making their way to the stage.  For those unaware, "I'll Be There" is the lead-off single from the group's anxiously anticipated (and still dateless) comeback record It's About Time and it's caught on like fire, landing them on the charts for the first time in 22 years.
