First Look Friday: Tay Walker - "Karma" + "Dreaming (prod by AAyhasis)"

Happy Friday y'all. Its time to get those big dookie ear warmers out and rock with the dulcet melancholia of Odd Future and The Internet's resident slow-crooneer and keyplayer--no not Frank--but the ever elusive Mr. Tay Walker and his two new drops; "Karma" and "Dreaming." Tay's the kind of studio-cat that likes to keep it extremely low-key but--when given the mic--stops shows near and far with his delicate falsetto and true-blue r&b sensibilities that put him in line with some of the most pronounced young talents in the left-of-center realm.

We first heard from Tay on Little Dragon's remix of The Internet's "Cocaine" and a few one-offs with Lucille Ghatti --not to mention his stellar self-titled EP--, but last week's drop of the ethereal slow-jam "Karma" gave us a taste of the North Hollywood shine that's to be featured on his upcoming LP 25 Hours A Day. A bit of a departure from the gentle rhodes and down-trot of the prior, the AAyhasis-produced swing of "Dreaming" has all the textures of one of Detroit's finest; buried soul-samples, thumping super-sub low-end exploits and lilting electric pianos not to mention some deft vocal layering. Its a fine appetizer for the impending springtime release. Get a taste of what Tay Walker has been cooking up with the videos for "Karma" and "Dreaming" below.
