Natasha Kmeto Shares A Somber Video For The Slow-Burning Ballad "I Thought You Had A Boyfriend"

Portland, Oregon may not scream out "music hub" when it comes to mind, but it has graced with a formidable new presence in the pop sphere, leaning harder and harder to the left with each day that passes. One particularly compelling voice from the kush-kissed skies of Portland has been one Natasha Kmeto; a brooding vocalist and producer with a penchant for electronic beats and heavy hooks, which has landed her on stages with Thundercat, Flying Lotus and gamut of the west coast's finest destroyers-of-all-genre.

Midway through last month, Kmeto unleashed her sophomore record Inevitable via Dropping Gems, exploring love lost and regained in a gripping and emotional suite of wavy, moody synth-soaked r&b compositions. Today, however, she backs up the record with a somber, black and white treatment for the brilliant new single "I Thought You Had A Boyfriend," pairing the slow-burning ballad to a visual that oozes of infatuation and lust, putting her city on the map and waving the flag high for all to see. If this serves as a first course, be sure to head over to her Soundcloud page to get properly acquainted and pick up a copy of Inevitable on Bandcamp today.
