Nas Recites "The World Is Yours" A Cappella For Vice In Japan

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

Nasty Nas joined VICE to help promote Sony's new music video recorder at their HQ in Japan, leaving them with the lone vocal of "The World Is Yours" off the monumental debut Illmatic. The Queens bomber mirrored everything from his lines to the very breaths being taken on the original cut, giving prospective music video cutters the rugged and raw reference for their chopping follies. Having fully cemented its classic cut status, there isn't really much else that needs to be said here. Unless, of course, you somehow managed to skip over what is arguably one of the best albums the culture has ever offered, in which case, you owe yourself and everyone around you a proper rotation. With the Mass Appeal imprint well underway and the roster shaping up quite nicely (signing Run The Jewels, Bishop Nehru, Boldy James and a slew of others) and the documentary piece Time Is Illmatic making rounds across the country, it certainly seems like Nasir simply can't do any wrong these days. Watch Nas deliver "The World Is Yours" in a cappella below. Cop the 20th anniversary reissue of Illmatic via iTunes today and go see Time Is Illmatic to experience the greatness.
