In a move that's arguably been overdue since NaS & Lauryn Hill collaborated on the 1996 single "If I Ruled The World," the two hip-hop heroes have announced a joint tour--the "Life Is Good/Black Rage" tour--kicking off next month. Nas will commence a solo leg of the tour on October 6th in Maryland, to be joined by Lauryn for the first shared bill on October 29th in Dallas, Texas. As of the current itinerary, it looks like both stars will on the set ofr at least 10 shows, sprinkled with a handful of Nas-only dates throughout. Speaking on the momentous announcement Ms. Hill had the following to say about the phrase "Black Rage" (which is apparently also the title of a forthcoming Lauryn single):

“I use the performance platform as an opportunity to express the energy of that moment, and the intention behind it. ...I’ve been a long standing rebel against the stale, over-commoditization. As artists, we have opportunity to help the public evolve, raise consciousness and awareness; teach, heal, enlighten and inspire in ways the democratic process may not be able to touch. So we keep it moving.”

Nas added:

“This is history. Better late than never.”
