Nao Shares Syrupy, Slow-Burning New Single "Bad Blood"
Hard to believe that it’s been over a year since we were first introduced to the lilt of London-based singer Nao. Her first outing proved to be a formidable one, forging a natural creative kinship with lesser-known Paul brother A.K. on the boom-bap-leaning lo-fi funk of “So Good” well before his sultry resurgence on Miguel‘s “FLESH” earlier this year.
Now, after two critically-acclaimed EPs and a forthcoming debut full-length on the way, Nao has shared a taste of what’s to come in the syrupy, slow-burning goodness of “Bad Blood.” Here Nao is at her best, stretching out over cool and collected synth work with grace and mirroring the track’s distorted guitar shrieks perfectly. It’s one of those night-time-is-the-right-time joints, no doubt, but certainly offers a promising take on what we have to look forward to over the next few months as she readies her debut.
Hear Nao’s latest offering “Bad Blood” below and hold tight for more audible treats in the months ahead. For continued listening, head over to her Soundcloud and get the proper introduction you deserve.
