Moses Sumney performs live at The Roots Jam 2016.

There really isn’t much to say about Moses Sumney that hasn’t already been articulated in some shape or form. Bottom line, the man can damn near do-it-all, crafting intricate sonic suites on-the-spot, providing himself with the only sonic or moral support he needs. And though he’s proved to be a more than capable vocalist, his output has been rather scarce, save for a handful of loose, acoustically-driven cuts that he’s shared since the release of his debut EP, Mid-City Island, which arrived all the way back in 2014.

Today, he offers us a studio take of “Everlasting Sigh”; a stunning hymn that was amongst the very first we had heard from him. In its current form, Sumney’s vocal swells twist and bend ever-so-gracefully, and with pristine clarity. The live component of Sumney’s work may have been what caught you, but his studio work will keep you. Hear the latest from Moses Sumney down below and scroll on to peep his forthcoming tour dates. Stay tuned for his next transmission. You won’t want to miss it.
