It appears Yasiin Bey will be continuing his run as hip-hop's one and only international man of mystery. After all, it was only a few weeks back that the artist formerly known as Mos Def (or currently, who knows anymore) stunned a Montreal audience with his very first official stand-up gig, waxing on the Drake/Meek debacle and losing speaking privileges in the presence of Kanye West. But it appears that London is mere hours away from having their own installment of the entertainment dynamo's comedy jam with the announcement that at midnight tonight, Black Dante will be hitting the soapbox at Stamford Works. There's no word as to what onlookers can expect, but if you're looking to get a taste of what laughs his first go-round bestowed upon us, you can jump back and taste the funny. There's also yet to be any sort of clarification as to whether this is the event that he's planning with Peanut Butter Wolf & Breakbeat Lou or if this stand-up gig is just phase one of his London takeover, but I suppose you'll all just have to wait and see, like most things in the world of Yasiin.
