Mixtape Monday is a clinic in all things made to move the hips, with soulful dance mixes and groove-heavy sets that span genres and cross oceans. Marco Weibel drops heat for Music Is My Sanctuary Radio while General Kraze flies solo with a huge hit of reggae gold for Red Light Radio. The Audiofiles pack a few different eras of soul into their latest show.

Amadou & Mariam team with James Stewart for the Bofou Safou mixtape. Grand Groove Radio celebrates the life of Brenda Jones (of The Jones Girls), and Chase The Nomad encourages listeners to step outside in the sun with the latest in his Nomadizm series. James Stewart (of Voilaaa Sound System) teams with dynamic duo Amadou & Mariam to present the Bofou Safou Mixtape. A little over one hour in length, the rhythmic mix mines thirty years of Afro-disco and dance gems. Along with Amadou & Mariam’s sounds, the mix also features tracks from William Onyeabor, Oumou Sangare, Livy Ekemezie and Mory Kante.

Cash takes over the controls for 1AM Radio to drop a mix in celebration of the man responsible for a ton of hits as one-half of The Neptunes and the uber cool frontman of N.E.R.D. Radical Hi-Fi’s General Kraze puts a foot on the gas with the Version Galore 65 mix for Red Light Radio. The 2-hour dubplate special is a dream for lovers of dancehall and roots reggae, featuring gems from Ini Kamoze, Culture Paul, Jesse James, Hugh Griffith and more. The second half of the show is a tribute to Lloyd James aka King Jammy.

The Audiofiles - Mixtape #7

Brussels duo The Audiofiles are all in with the seventh edition of their signature mix. As always, the tiny podcast packs quite a punch with joints from Tommaso Cappellato, Vels Trio, Kailo, Sango, Seun Kuti, Black Flower and Dr. Lonnie Smith. There is even a debut jam from Liz Aku.

So many songs to share! The debut single by Liz Aku (in the picture), something crazy Kaytranada did and wicked ethiojazz from Black Flower. There's Polish funk and Britain delivers yet again with the Vels Trio. It's a global party on a rocky, rocky boat. Hold on!

This mix reflects what i've been into lately. I tried to lace a couple of my favorite new discoveries together with some of my all time favorites.
