Members Of Rage Against The Machine, Public Enemy & Cypress Hill Are Forming A Supergroup

Yesterday the world teetered at the edge of its seat awaiting news of just what Rage Against The Machine had hidden up its sleeve as a countdown website worked its way down to June 1st on a mysterious website. But it appears we won't have to wait even that long for the big reveal, as Billboard reports that what we're actually in store for is an entirely different beast from the hopeful reunion rumors.

According to Billboard's sources, members from RATM, Public Enemy and Cypress Hill will be joining in arms to form a supergroup, presumably named Prophets Of Rage; the three word decree that was blasted on their cryptic countdown site. And if Billboard has it right, we'll see Chuck D and B-Real lining up with Tom Morello, Tim Commerford, and Brad Wilk of RATM for a colossal collision of political barbs and expert lyricism. RATM leader, Zach De La Rocha, is apparently not involved in the project. Their debut is reportedly slated for The Hollywood Bowl on June 3rd, where they will perform classics from all three catalogues, respectively. Our guess is that the clock is actually counting down to the moment you can cop tickets. The event will mark the first Rage Against The Machine showing since their 2007 reunion tour.
