Hear Jack White's Funky Theme Song For Maya Rudolph & Martin Short's Variety Show
Tonight will see the premiere of Maya Rudolph & Martin Short's new variety-styled show, Maya & Marty. And while the prospect of these two comedic legends joining forces for an entire series should be enough reason to tune-in, it appears the show will arrive with a theme song from oddball rock-and-roller, Jack White. Typically, one would have to, you know, watch the show in order to hear its opening theme, but as with all things Jack White-related (or Maya and Marty related for that matter) convention goes out the damn window. And rightfully so.
White has released a sliver of the opening theme via his own Third Man Records imprint, offering a glimpse at what will serve as his very first theme-song-writing gig, full of heavy kicks and snares and wahed-out guitar riffs; a funkier take on White's hallmark sound and tonal palette.
