Mapei's "Don't Wait" Gets A Breath Of Funky Air On A Jungle Remix
Mapei dropped her debut album Hey Hey roughly this time last year, establishing her as a formidable new voice in the ever-broadening horizons of the left-field. That album graced us with the delicate pop styles of the lead-off single "Don't Wait," which almost immediately received a helping hand from Chance The Rapper on the song's first reworked effort. But today, the freshly-unveiled lo-fi r&b duo Jungle has tried their own hand in revamping that blissful debut, calling on warbled guitar struts and a mid-tempo groove to fix this thing with a very danceable, almost tribally funked-out vibe, reminiscent of Jai Paul's "Str8 Outta Mumbai." The remix is set to be included as a bonus track on a forthcoming deluxe edition of Mapei's debut album, which will be arriving October 16th.
