Madlib heats up the one’s and two’s for the Treasure Island Music Festival after-party with a heavy set of obscurities, awesome and originals for the event from Ray Ban and Boiler Room that clocks in a few minutes shy of the 60-minute mark. Among other things, the mix includes afrobeat, loads of funk and the requisite hip-hop highlighted by a few joints from Lord Quas. Madlib also delivers a handful of exclusives, including tracks from Yasiin Bey, DOOM, Freddie Gibbs and others. Check the track below to listen to the full set. Stay tuned for more.

    OH. SNAP.

Some of his transitions are so schizophrenic and personal to be played out in front of an audience. Long pauses with nothing but static… Madlib is like a musical Woody Allen.

I’m sooooooo happy I stayed up that night because Madlib dropped a bunch of heatrocks that were removed from this recording. The hottest joint I can remember was the Freddie Gibbs/Raekwon track. CANNOT WAIT FOR (COCAINE) PINATA.

Watch for sets by Ras_G and Egon. They were definitely special. You know Egon’s steez is all about psychedelic Prog Rock and Funk from places like Turkey and Australia. He didn’t disappoint. Ras? His whole set was off the SP-404. In my opinion, twas was better than Madlib’s set.
