Lupe Fiasco Shares A Stirring New Video For "It Just Might Be Okay," Dedicated To Baltimore

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

In what might be the most brilliant move he's made in some time, Lupe Fiasco has just released a brand new video for one of his oldest, most-beloved tracks--"It Just Might Be Okay." It's a genuinely positive and heart-warming video, giving screen time to community groups, classrooms, and families that doing nothing more than their best to make the world work as it should.

But that's not all. The final seconds of the "It Just Might Be Okay" clip are a stark move out of cinematic fantasy and into the present day. We won't spoil the ending for you, but suffice to say you'll feel it. You'll most certainly feel it.

Lupe's most recent video for "Adoration of the Magi" also featured a patchwork band of characters from all walks of life. But these new visuals for 'It Just Might Be Okay" are truly on a a level all their own, building up a world of hope and security before showing just how quickly it can all come crashing down. The track comes from Lupe's 2006 LP Lupe Fiasco's Food & Liquor, but sounds just as necessary and modern today as the day it dropped. With the pain and injustice that has coursed through Baltimore and beyond in recent weeks (months, years), this hip-hop catharsis offering is a welcome one indeed. Watch the new video for "It Just Might Be Okay" below.
