Lupe Fiasco - Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album, Part 1 (cover art)

Lupe Fiasco is a busy bwai so it shouldn’t come as any surprise that he’s into more different things on any given day than we could possibly cover on OKP. But the Chicago MC left us two tidbits for us to chew on over the Labor Day weekend, which are worth reprinting here. The first, of course, is the tracklisting for his hotly anticipated album Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album, Part 1  (after the jump). That should be food (and liquor) for though on it’s own, especially considering the Bilal cameo on track 1o, titled “How Dare You”–a combo we could stand to hear again after their successful Robert Glasper collabo. But Lupe also saw his latest editorial for the Chicago Sun-Times published this week–not so much an article or an essay as a sort of poetic gumbo of all the different things he’s into (see above). That piece is called “Summer: A Mixed Bag” and if you’re curious the bag contains:

Ramadan, Chicago’s perpetually skyrocketing murder rate, album promotion, vintage cars, the constant company of wise men of Asia, a funeral for one of the best of us and a plethora of etcetera, all delicately balanced in the summer months of July and August.

Guess he changed his mind about “go to sleep” being included.

He might put it on Part 2 because he said part 2 was more of just rapping with metaphors and double-entendres.
