Via Rosa
Via Rosa has been a musical obsession of mine for the better part of this year. I first got put onto the Chicago songstress from her many collaborations with Windy City collective THEMpeople, and then I dug deeper into her solo catalog and it was a wrap (this woman has joints for days). Definitely one of the better soundcloud follows out there, as she consistently drops quality music on what seems like a daily basis. Anyway, Via recently dropped another solo project, a 5-track EP of covers entitled, Judge The Book. They’re covers, but honestly Via Rosa reimagines these tracks and gives them completely new life. Listen below as she takes on the works of Peggy Lee, Amy Winehouse, Weezer, Pyramids, Michael Kiwanuka & Me’Shell Ndegeocello (“Bones Fool Of Me” is definitely my shit).
