Leon Bridges Smooth Sailin' Video Square
Leon Bridges has released yet another elegant, throwback-styled video for all of us to enjoy. Set to the breezy sounds of his upbeat single "Smooth Sailin'," the video features Bridges doing what he does best, that is holding court from behind a microphone stand, his band charting sweet R&B territory over which his voice can soar. Strutting to and fro in a cold-as-ice teal suit, Bridges sings the praises of a lover who moves at exactly the right speed upon the seas of love. Sure, the "Smooth Sailin'" metaphor isn't necessarily a groundbreaking one, but we definitely prefer this rendition to that old Christopher Cross chestnut.
Leon Bridges's new clip is but the latest in the run up to the release of his debut LP, Coming Home, which hits stores on June 23rd. We last saw the young Texan in the video for "Better Man," and given that "Smooth Sailin'" just dropped last week, it seems that Bridges is serious about making a bold impression before he finally ships out the wax.
