Damian Marley breaks with the one of the cardinal tropes of traditional reggae music–denouncing the evils of capitalism–to buss this surprisingly inspiring anthem for elbow grease and entrepeneurialism. (Or higgling, as its known in JA). As LargeUp put it:
“Set Up Shop” proves that Marley is as rebellious and provocative as he’s always been. Deejaying at a desk in a field for most of the video, Marley’s lyrics and images seem to encourage viewers/listeners to keep their hustle on, no matter what that hustle is.
