Kanye West Threatens To Boycott Grammys If Frank Ocean Isn't Nominated

Frank Ocean's album Blonde won't be considered for the Grammys this year because he missed the submission deadline. According to many reports, that was an intentional choice by the seemingly mercurial singer. But Kanye West believes that the Grammys academy should do the right thing.

Kanye stopped a performance of "Wolves" in the Oakland, Calif. stop of his Saint Pablo tour to give Blonde its props - and demand that the Grammys do the same. To give an example of a solution he cited Lady Gaga, who he said the Grammys secretly changed their rules for in order to nominate her debut album The Fame.

"The album I listen to the most this year is Frank Ocean's album. I'll tell you this right now: If his album’s not nominated in no categories, I’m not showing up to the Grammys," he said. "As artists, we gotta come together to fight the bullshit they're doing to us.

"...No one wants to say nothing about it," he said about giving props to Ocean, who he referred to as his brother. "No one wants to do nothing about it."

Blonde hit Apple Music as a surprise release at the end of August, satisfying years of waiting by die-hard fans who enjoyed his last album, 2012's Channel Orange. The album hit number one on the Billboard charts, making it Ocean's first number one album.
