Dubbed, East Meets West, Kanye's arrival at the Paradise Music Festival in Manila has been the subject of much speculation and internet fodder, particularly with the debut of new Pablo merchandise, specially made for the Filipino festival. But of course, the festival appearance, presumably the first of a marathon run over the coming months, also played host to the unveiling of a new tune, tentatively titled, "I Don't Want To Be Liked," in which the polarizing rap force laments his public perception by claiming that no genius is appreciated in his time via auto-croon and lone piano accompaniment, all against a stunning and illuminated dotted backdrop. The song dissolves into the unapologetic My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy anthem, "Runaway" as the video fades to black.
West also performed his newly-surfaced Drake collaboration, "Pop Style,"; an offering from Aubrey's highly-anticipated, Views From The 6 LP, which is slated to drop on April 29th. In more Kanye-related news, his seventh studio album, The Life Of Pablo, reached an unprecedented milestone this past week, landing atop the charts as the first album to do so off of streams alone.
