Kabaka Pyramid is a musician and producer straight out of the streets of Kingston, Jamaica. Since the 2011 release of his Rebel Music EP, Pyramid has been a strong force in the new reggae movement alongside currently making waves in Jamaica. Like leading reggae revivalists Protoje and Chronixx, Kabaka Pyramid makes unrestricted reggae that breaks the genre's boundaries and still delivers a message of conscious evolution and spirituality. The name Kabaka is Ugandan for King and that is the spot Pyramid is going for - he showed this when he got on a track called “Selassie Souljahz” with Protoje, Chronixx and reggae veteran Sizzla. Though all four reggae artists operate within the same singjay sphere you could easily pick out Pyramid's vocal style. The unique singjay actually has some hip-hop appeal and it comes as no surprise due to the fact that he started as an underground rapper raising the bar for hip-hop culture in Jamaica, and getting a feature on DJ Green Lanterns' The Myspace Invasion. After releasing the strong and vibrant video for "Never Gonna Be A Slave" the song man is making us rise up again with a video for a song of off his 2013 EP Lead The Way called "Liberal Opposer."

In "Liberal Opposer" Pyramid calls himself a rebel with a cause that observes the laws of his heart. The influence of hip-hop is clear in both the revolutionary style lyrics and the production courtesy of Green Lion Crew. Focusing on the evils of materialism and capitalism, Pyramid is bringing us back to the root in a new way - and it's bass heavy. The video consists of both live footage and superimposed images symbolizing power and militancy highlighting both the positives and negatives but saying "Only the righteous warriors can see the victory." The message of reggae is always positive no matter how it's presented and it's clear that Kabaka is doing something great. The b-roll towards the end of the video shows Kabaka conversing with a fan who says "Your work teach me about life... you come like a messenger, good messenger... change lots of lives in Gambia, people love your music in Gambia." The video closes with smiles and Kabaka saying that he has to go to Gambia. Before he gets to Africa, the conscious messenger will travel to music festivals worldwide including California’s Sierra Nevada World Music Festival, Reggae Summerjam in Germany, Rototom Sunsplash and almost  every one of the season’s big reggae fests.
