OKP TV: Jungle Answer "The Questions" On Disco, Hip-Hop & Time Machines Behind The Scenes At Central Park SummerStage

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

So...who the hell is Jungle? For a band that has turned out multiple viral-video hits (see "Busy Earnin'"; "The Heat" et al.) and topped countless ones-to-watch lists in the past year-plus, Josh Lloyd-Watson and Tom McFarland have managed to keep an incredibly low profile even as their music has slowly taken over the world, ceding the spotlight in their videos to the arresting moves and choreography of virtuoso b-boys, roller skaters and other stand-ins. For the first 6 months of buzz, in fact, they kept their government names and identities totally secret, preferring to be credited only as 'J' and 'T'. Now that the jungle cat is out the bag, however, and the group has invaded the states with a full live band (read: full on disco-assault squad including neon jungle laserlight show) in tow, we were psyched to sit down with the duo behind the scenes at their headlining SummerStage appearance (brought to you by Okayplayer!) and find out what makes them tick, and with educated dancefloor grooves like these, we had all "The Questions."

The Questions that keep us up at night, however, are not necessarily those on the standard questionnaire: What Do You Roller Skate to? Favorite Disco/Boogie Jam of All Times? Favorite MC/Hip-hop Track to Cover? Best Use of a New York-only Time Machine? Refreshingly--but not surprisingly, knowing their work--the lads' answers trended towards the old school (Sugar Hill Gang) and erudite (Sandy's Gang, J Dilla's "Workinonit") while still enjoying a laugh at their youthful taste in "urban sportwear" and also hipping the world to some UK MCs that might be on future ones-to-watch list. To get the answers to these and all "The Questions," watch a special Jungle edition of OKP TV below:
