Read A Book: John Oates Pens A Deal For New Memoir, Arriving In 2016

John Oates -- or as some of you may refer to him, the brunette half of what is possibly the most successful yacht-rock/pop-rock act ever -- has signed a deal to bring his memoirs into the world. Charting almost 50 years in the music industry (writing his first single in 1966 with "I Need Your Love") the memoirs could provide some keen insight into how Hall & Oates came to be, what drew John Oates and Daryl Hall to one another at Temple University and why it took until 2004 for Oates to finally put out a solo record, when his creative kin had been dropping solo ventures since 1980. As a duo, Hall & Oates has released 21 albums over the years and sold over 80 million records worldwide since their early '70s prog-rock beginnings AKA the War Babies years. The memoir has yet to be titled, but it will be based on Oates' own journals and is slated for a 2016 arrival. We'll be sure to have the latest as details roll out, so check back soon for the scoop.
