Jay Z Signs Film And TV Deal With The Weinstein Company

Roc-A-Fella records co founder Kareem "Biggs" Burke is bringing the studio where parts of Jay Z's Reasonable Doubt was recorded to life.

A replica of the studio is opening in New York, with the exhibition and pop up taking place from October 20 to 23. Titled the Roc96, the exhibit will be a replica of the Studio B Control Room at D&D Studios, which closed in 2014.

The Reasonable Doubt pop up will feature a number of items for purchase including scarves; wooden headphones with the 20th anniversary logo; Reasonable Doubt turntables; "Can't Knock The Hustle" duffle bags and more.

Burke did something similar to the forthcoming Reasonable Doubt exhibit earlier this year, when he opened a pop up shop in Los Angeles that replicated Jay Z's Brooklyn apartment.

In other Jay Z related news the entrepreneur is producing a number of different projects through his two year film and TV deal with The Weinstein Company.

One is a documentary on Kalief Browder and another is a miniseries on Nicholas Irving, the Army's first African American sniper.

"I'm excited to tell stories from real life prophets, whom through their struggles have changed the world for the better, and others whose stories are filled with fantasy and delight. Harvey and David are visionaries both of whom have done this time and time again. I'm already passionate about what we currently have in the pipeline and I'm looking forward to discovering others," Jay Z said in a statement.

"Jay's ability to influence entertainment and pop culture has gone well beyond music for many years. He approaches every aspect of his career with both determination and effortlessness, making him one of the leading power players in entertainment history," Harvey Weinstein, the co-chair of The Weinstein Company, said. "We already have some exceptional projects in the works and are excited to see what more is to come."
