James Blake "Our Love Comes Back"

As the release date for James Blake's sophomore LP Overgrown approaches the teasers have become too much for some to stand - the phenomenon due in large part to the predictability and thematic cohesion seemingly absent from Blake's sound. He has effectively left a great amount of anticipation in his wake as people continue guessing. Compounding this is the fact that his collaborative efforts have all been the source of major heat. Each single he has released ahead of the album is a carefully orchestrated piece that stands in distinct contrast to the next - a circumstance that suggests his release may play more like a series of electro-charged orchestral movements rife with emotion and the static of musical evolution that effectively leaves any discussion of genre pointless. His latest single "Our Love Comes Back" is but a continuation of this trend. A song driven by a strong but vulnerable sounding vocal performance that moves in and out of the production in an emotionally heavy installation of piano chords and ghastly found sounds. Overgrown arrives on April 8th. Hit the link to listen to "Our Love Comes Back" below and/or download (if you have a UK address).
