Jah Banks "Battle For Middle You"
Jah Banks' Jah Makin Music mixtape was a hit over at LargeUp.com, but we can't help noticing the stand-out track on the project. With it's headbopping swag, "Battle For Middle You" is quite infectious. Brooklyn-raised Jamaican MC Banks is a staple on the LargeUp Sessions radio show and has taken the influence of reggae and classic hip-hop to a new level with his flow on this dance beat. The track (of the same name) was made by producer Julio Bashmore and is dope on its own, but Banks' raggamuffin rhymes bring it into another realm - you can play this in electronic and reggae clubs alike. The remix has gotten the approval of DJ Select (of the NY-based Jamaican restaurant Miss Lily's Radio Lily) and Robzilla, clearly labeling it a club banger. The BKBashment Remix of "Battle For Middle You" is a mixture of house, dancehall and hip-hop, turning the tracks original runway sound into a tune that will go perfectly with what is about to be some Caribbean heat. We expect this to be in your car mix, your outdoor BBQ mix, your indoor BBQ mix - you will be hooked.
