Jack White Breaks Down His 'Lazaretto' LP & Performs Live On The Tonight Show

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

Jack White took to The Tonight Show to perform a few tracks from his innovative Lazaretto record and break down all of the quirks and easter eggs he's built in. We should have gotten an understanding of how mad the rocker was when he and Neil Young cut a record on the spot during the show last month. However, as it was previously reported, White's new piece is anything but an ordinary vinyl pressing. Embedded in the grooves and dust of that black disc lays a laundry list of tricks, including an endless repeat section, a hologram angel etched into the imprint and variations of intros that unveil themselves depending on where you place the needle (not to mention a slew of other little treasures) Oh and the record begins on the inner most groove as opposed to the outer, which we're all much too familiar with at this point.

After giving Jimmy the lowdown on his most recent pressing, White took to the stage with his chain gang of musicians by his side to churn out a blazing fuzz-addled rendition of the title-track from the record and -- as a web exclusive -- another cut called "Just One Drink." You can peep both performances as well the insanely insightful interview below. Cop Jack White's expansive and nuanced Lazaretto LP via Thirdman Records today and get an idea of what all the mad-scientiest fuss is about.
