Sadly, hurricane Irene put an end to Spike Lee‘s ‘Brooklyn Loves MJ’ celebration that was scheduled to go down yesterday in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. However, for my fellow east coast dwellers you can still party in the comfort of your home (if you have power) with J. Period x DJ Spinna & Spike Lee’s Man or the Music 2 (40 acres edition). Last year’s edition set the bar pretty high, but this one is definitely worth the hard drive space as well. “[the tape] delves deeper into the story of Michael’s music with rare, live and remixed gems unavailable anywhere else—including never-before-heard MJ tributes from Erykah Badu & The Roots, Questlove, Stevie Wonder, YahZarah and more.” You can download the two disc project, after the jump.
