Celebrate The First Official Vinyl Release J Dilla's 'Jay Love Japan' w/ The Album's Original Promo Clip

Today, dear friends, we celebrate the very first official vinyl release of J Dilla‘s late masterpiece, Jay Love Japan. Though it’s existed in various forms for those willing to dig deep into the internets or procure bootleg LPs from shady overseas distributors, but this is the first time the album’s received the wax treatment with the blessing of Ma Dukes and the estate, and just in time for Mother’s Day.

Jay Love Japan compiles 11 late-era Dilla creations, both instrumental and vocal, into one sleek package, showcasing the talents of the late Baatin, Blu, J Davey and a very young, pre-Adorn, Miguel. And so, as an added perk to the day’s musical merriments, Nature Sounds has dug up the original promo clip for Jay Love Japan, placing Jay Dee in a Shinobi-like silhouette, hopping over pyramids in a single bound. For the avid J Dilla enthusiast, this should get you nostalgic in a hurry. Watch the original Jay Love Japan promo clip down below and while you’re down there, grab yourself a copy of the vinyl via the OKP Shop. No collection of the GOAT’s work should be without it.
